Developing Constructivism-Based Module In Elementary Mathematics Course To Increase Students Competence
The propose of this research is to produce a constructivism-based module in elementary mathematics course. The method of this research is research and development with the model used was 4-D model by Thiagarajan, Semmel and Semmel which originally consist of four phases, but it was simplified to three phases; define, design, and develop. The data collected using questioner and test. The data was analysed descriptively. This research was conducted in mathematics education study program of STKIP Qomaruddin Gresik. The data analysis shows that the development of the constructivism-based module is valid. This result was shown by the average score given by the validators that is 3,75 out of scale 5, it can be said that the module is in good category. The analysis result also indicates that the module is practical shown by the average score of questioner of students’ response regarding the module use is 4, 29 which can be concluded that the module is in good category. An instruction practice using this module also indicates that this module is effective which shown by students test score; 80% of students exceed the standard score of 65 which also can be concluded that the students reached classical completeness.
