Profil Kemampuan Spasial Siswa Smp Dalam Menyelesaikan Masalah Geometri Ditinjau Dari Perbedaan Gaya Kognitif
The objectiveof this research is to describe junior high school students’ spatial abilitywith cognitive style Field Dependent (FD) and Field Independent (FI) in solving geometry problems. The results of data analysis showedthat at the stage of understanding the problems, subjects used their spatial ability through imaging and conceptualizing. At the phase of problem solving, FI subject used their spatial abilities through imagining and conceptualizing but FD subject was not through pattern-seeking while FI subject through pattern-seeking. At the stage of implementing the problem solving plan, subjects used the spatial abilities through imagining, conceptualizing and pattern-seeking. At the re-examining stage, FD subject used the spatial abilities through conceptualizing but not through imagining and pattern-seeking while FI subject through imagining and conceptualizing but not through pattern-seeking.
